In 2019, I co-founded in collaboration with Erasmus Mayr (University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, Germany) the peer-reviewed journal Ancient Philosophy Today: DIALOGOI, published by Edinburgh University Press.
The journal provides a unique venue in the profession for mutual engagement between ancient and current philosophy. It publishes excellent work in ancient philosophy which engages, in content or in method, with contemporary philosophy. It also publishes excellent work in contemporary philosophy which significantly draws on ancient philosophical ideas.
The journal pursues its distinctive mission by publishing original research articles of the highest quality, and by promoting discussion of cutting-edge research already published, by commissioning book reviews as well as state-of-the-art overviews on key ongoing discussions in the field.
In 2022 I co-founded with Johannes Zachhuber (University of Oxford), Gretchen Reydams-Shils (University of Notre Dame), Andy Radde-Galwitz (University of Notre Dame ), and George Boys-Stones (University of Toronto) a new book series for Oxford University Press: The Library of Early Christian Philosophy.
Each interdisciplinary volume provides an introduction, an original ancient text, a translation, and a number of essays illuminating the philosophical aspects of the text. The first volume, dedicated to Gregory of Nyssa's On the Six Days of Creation, appeared in 2024, co-edited by Zachhuber and Marmodoro.
This series is devoted to publishing books in the fields of epistemology, philosophy of mind, philosophy of language, and philosophy of science. The series is a platform for state-of-the-art contributions in these areas. All books are peer-reviewed.
This new series aims to provide state-of-the-art guides to research in Classical Studies (across the fields of Language and Literature, Ancient History, Archaeology, and Ancient Philosophy and Science) that explore the key themes and ideas shaping previous scholarship on individual authors, genres, and topics.
Each volume is authored by a prominent scholar in the respective field and offers a critical reappraisal of research conducted in recent decades that illuminates the state of contemporary scholarship.
